Well I am sitting here to night feeling Miss Lyla kick like crazy and wishing Austin was here to feel it! He is still at work though, but he will be home soon!
Her tiny little leg and foot... that kick me all the time!

Since we have been here at Fort Irwin, Austin's job requires him to be gone pretty often. 2 weeks out of every month he is out "in the box" - they call it the box referring to a sand box- training guys that are getting ready to go to Iraq.
This rotation, he is playing the Iraqi Army. For the first week of the training, he gets to come home every night, then the next week they are gone over night with the exception of a couple of nights during the week.

Since we are not coming home to Georgia for Thanksgiving, Austin and I are headed to Vegas! We can't wait.... going to see Cirque du Soleil and the Blue Man Group! This is out Christmas gift for each other, since we were not able to go on a honeymoon!

Shannon's pregnancy so far...

This picture was taken about a week after I found out that Austin and I had a little one on the way!

This was taken at the hotel that Austin and I had to stay in for two weeks when we arrived in California!

This one is the most current at 22 weeks!

March 2009 till Now

Wow - So much has changed in the past 8 months!

Austin finally got home from Afghanistan and we got married on the 15th !

Austin's homecoming night was FREEEZING and I was in a dress... I had no idea we would be outside actually watching the plane fly into the base, but as cold as I was, it was SO worth it! This was one of the best nights of my life, and not many people get to experience the joy of seeing the man you love for the first time in 6 months, that is the BEST hug and kiss you will ever receive.

The "actual" wedding was small, just my parents and Austin's mom, step dad, and brother Michael. We got married on Riverwalk in Clarksville, TN. It was kind of a dreary/rainy day but it cleared up by the time we walked down to get married. A neat thing for me was that I got to use my mom's bouquet that she used at her wedding when she married my dad.

These months were spent getting used to married life and getting settled into our apartment in Clarksville. The apartment was interesting to say the least, we are glad to be out of there, that is for sure! Clarksville was a good place to live but in June we were preparing to move across the country to where we are now, Fort Irwin, California!

July - August: Well this July we were supposed to be moving to California, but instead the Army decided to leave us in Clarksville for another two months.
Austin was supposed to go to the board and get his promotion before we moved, and this is why we were delayed. Turns out that they couldn't get it together in time and he is about to go now!

Drum roll please................... July 7th, 2009 we found out that we are expecting a baby!!! We were a little shocked, but very excited!
After this blessed occasion, we had our FORMAL wedding on July 25th, 2009. We have been planning this wedding for almost 2 whole years! The ceremony and reception were beautiful and perfect in every way! *Thanks mom and dad Fielder*

Finally we are actually moving to California. We got here on Sept. 9th after a week long trip across America. We stopped in Memphis, TN, Oklahoma City, OK, Albuquerque, NM, Grand Canyon, AZ, then finally Barstow, CA.

We had to stay in Barstow for 13 days, which is about 30-45 minutes from the base. This was before we got temporary housing while we were waiting on our house to be ready on October 9th.

We got all moved into our house and got to find out that we are having a baby GIRL on October 19th, 2009! Her name will be Lyla Brianne Conley. Austin came up with Lyla and Brianne is derived from my mom's brother, Bryan, who passed away when he was 17 years old.
